We have been advised by the Superintendent of An Garda Siochana, Sarah Meyler, that the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable persons) Act 2012-2016 Will Commence at End of April 2016

This means that if you have not been previously vetted, it will be Illegal for you to work with or volunteer with Children or Vulnerable Adults.

You MUST be vetted PRIOR to working with or volunteering with Children or Vulnerable Adults.

You must be a member of Canoeing Ireland to be vetted.

Vetting Policy and Procedures is on our Website https://www.canoe.ie/gardavetting/

OLD VETTING FORMS

With this new system coming into action at the end of the month, we are required to finish sending in the old forms.

                            APRIL 20th, 2016

Will be the last day that  Canoeing Ireland will accept the OLD forms. From that point, no one will be vetting until the Act has commenced and the new form will be issued to the members of Canoeing Ireland.

Change over from Hard copy forms to Evetting

The New forms will be more complex and require more information, ie : passport details, mother maiden name.

We will  be partaking in the Evetting process, but that will not commence until later in the year.

Please, encourage any members who have not been vetted to have their vetting done ASAP. Attached is the Verification page and Vetting Form; both must be submitted to be vetted.
