Phase 3 of the lifting of public health restrictions comes into effect from this Monday 29th June. This easing will see a lot of businesses return to operation, as well as a welcome return to a high level of sporting activity. Phase 3 will see a large easing of many restrictions but there are still many hygiene guidelines which must be obeyed, the wearing of facemasks is highly recommended in public spaces and strict hygiene guidelines around hand washing and suspected cased of the corona virus still apply.

The key updates to the Canoeing Ireland Return to Paddling guidelines are –

  • Travel limits are removed, allowing nationwide travel in Ireland
  • Summer camps may return to operation
  • Groups of up to 200 may engage in outdoor activity when social distancing is maintained
  • Groups of up to 50 may gather indoors when social distancing is maintained

If you have any further question around a return to activity or require further guidance around specific requirement for a return to any paddlesport activity please contact Canoeing Ireland.

We would like to congratulate and thank our members on their compliance with the restrictions so far, and look forward to seeing them all back out on the river very soon.
