Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Canoeing Ireland (CI) is the National Governing Body responsible for promoting, developing and managing paddlesport in the Republic of Ireland.

Following a period of re-organisation, Canoeing Ireland are now seeking applications from
suitably qualified individuals to lead the organisation in delivering on the goals set out in the Strategic Plan.

As CEO you will manage Canoeing Ireland’s operations in close cooperation with the volunteer and professional resources of the organisation, piloting CI towards successful achievement of its identified goals. You will have considerable experience in organisational management, probably in a sporting/volunteer environment. You will have demonstrated skills in the areas of governance, policy, finance, HR and communications. You will be a capable change manager who understands the influences that impact on sport’s National Governing Bodies.

Clonmel Hub Coordinator/Canoeing officer

(5 days a week, one year contract)

Canoeing Ireland and Tipperary Sports Partnership are seeking a Sports Hub Coordinator / Canoeing Project Officer.  This post will be integral to the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan to promote, attract and develop sustainable usage of the Outdoor Community Sports Hub on the River Suir in Tipperary and canoeing nationally.

The ideal candidate will have canoeing and a participation background, with knowledge of sport in Ireland and at least 3 years’ relevant experience.

Contract Type: 1 Year full time

Salary: €30,649

Location: Tipperary Sports Partnership Offices, Ballingarrane House, Cahir Road, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary,

Notice of appointment as Interim CEO

Canoeing Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment by the Board, of Paddy Boyd, as Interim CEO. Nominated by Sport Ireland for the position, Paddy was CEO of Irish Sailing for 16 years up to 2004 and served as Executive Director of Sail Canada for six and a half years until his return to Ireland last year. He has had an accomplished career in top sport management positions and we look forward to availing of his expertise to guide and lead our sport towards a successful and sustainable future.

Canoeing Ireland Training Centre Staff Panel 2017

Canoeing Ireland Training Centre are looking for fun, enthusiastic and eager instructors to work  over the summer months in Strawberry Beds, Chapelizod.

We will be running courses from Summer camps to Adult skills so plenty of opportunity to work, log hours and gain valuable experience.
