This year Canoeing Ireland are excited to be rolling out the “Blueway Your Way” program. Supported by Sport Ireland and the Dormant Account Inclusion Fund the “Blueway Your Way” is an initiative to promote inclusion in canoeing and open up access to participants with physical and intellectual disabilities and well as youth services and DEIS schools. The program not only promotes canoeing as a sport but also accessibility to new environments and open up possibilities for exploration and adventure
Canoeing Ireland are supporting providers nationwide to promote the “Blueway Your Way” to schools, youth services and disability organisations. The Canoeing Ireland Training Centre along with local providers will deliver a level 1 kayak sills course to participants and open them the many possibilities taking part in canoeing can have for them, i.e. physical outdoor activity, exposure to new environments , learning a new skill and most important having lots of fun.

“Blueway Your Way” is for you too. One of the key aims of the program is to make it sustainable into the future, and we need you too do that. It is our aim to encourage as many teachers, youth workers and leaders to take part in the activity and with the support of Canoeing Ireland progress to became trainee instructor themselves and become a champion for the sport within their organisation. Growing from participants to instructors will make you an integral part in the sustainability of the program for many years to come.
