Liffey Training Centre

Canoeing Ireland operates a variety of courses from its Training Centre on the River Liffey. Located on the  Strawberry Beds which is between Chapelizod and Lucan, the Centre offers a range of Skills and Instructor training courses.

Facilities The Liffey Centre is equipped with a full fleet of kayaks, wetsuits, Buoyancy Aids, Spraydecks, Cagoules, helmets and paddles. There are male and female changing rooms with hot showers. There is also a large lecture room.

How to get there From Dublin:
From Town:

From Parkgate Street (on the North bank of the Liffey opposite Heuston Railway Station) proceed along Conyngham Road. This runs parallel between the Liffey and the wall of the Phoenix Park. At the traffic lights at the end of Coyngham road, continue straight.
Drive up Knockmaroon Hill and take a left at the next lights. Drive down the hill, onto the Strawberry Beds Road, past
The Anglers Rest restaurant on your right. Continue for nearly two kilometres, passing under a rusty metal bridge, the Training Centre is on your left with a semi circular entrance wall

From Lucan:

From Lucan Village, go over Lucan Bridge and turn right. Proceed along this road until you pass the Strawberry Hall pub and then under the Westlink Bridge. About 500 metres the Centre is on your right.
